JOB SUMMARY: The main purpose of this position is to create formulas for various compounded preparations and provide technical support to clients by phone.

JOB DUTIES:

• Create Formulas for various compounded dosage formulas
  • Non-sterile (oral liquids, gels, etc) & sterile (parenterals, creams, drops, etc)
  • Perform all necessary research to formulate and trouble shoot client requests.
  • Create questions and answers" in response to client requests.

• Formula Testing
  • For compounding, conduct lab tests, evaluate and change formulas
  • Manage and keep up to date the on-line formula database
  • Review existing formulas and update with the current Pharmacopeias standards

TRAVEL: No travel required.

 Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum two (2) years experience in formulation chemistry
• Masters degree in a Science related field
• Knowledge of regulations and guidelines of the following is considered an asset: USP, FDA, DEA, Health Canada, state and provincial boards
• Excellent communication skills; fluent English and French (oral & written) required
• Advanced mathematical skills and technical expertise (formulation development)
• Good interpersonal skills and customer focused
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) required.
