Internal General Counsel

• Location: Las Vegas, NV (Summerlin Community)

• Position: Full-time
• Salary Range: Commensurate with education, experience, and qualifications

As the Internal General Counsel at Shift4 Corporation, you will provide legal counseling with respect to all contracts and contract negotiations, existing and pending patent and trademark filings, and other aspects of the business as needed. In this role, you will be expected to develop a strong understanding of Shift4’s business goals and objectives, provide practical legal advice that furthers those business objectives, and identify legal risks to the business.

This position requires you to develop solutions to complex problems that mitigate risk, and to continuously analyze, evaluate, and advise on the legal risks of actions or inactions taken in contract negotiations and execution. The successful candidate will be self-motivated and strive to consistently execute and deliver high-quality results.
 

Essential Functions

• Draft and negotiate contract terms and conditions in support of Shift4 Corporation
• Manage all processes, terms, and conditions related to Shift4’s contracts and advise the executive team on contractual rights and obligations
• Supervise legal compliance for all aspects of Shift4’s contracts
• Collaborate with department subject matter experts to identify and solve complex problems
• Retain and manage outside counsel as needed
• Understand and document Shift4’s company policies and procedures

 

Job Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Member of the State Bar of Nevada in good standing and demonstrated exceptional achievement
• Minimum three years corporate experience, preferably in technology or software
• Comfortable in fast-moving and often ambiguous situations
• Strong team player with a high level of initiative
• Willingness to tackle difficult problems and provide multiple solutions
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong organizational skills, ability to juggle multiple priorities, and to meet short deadlines

Education and Experience

• J.D. degree from an ABA-accredited law school
• Licensed to practice law in Nevada
• Minimum three years corporate experience; preferably in a technology or software business
