JOB SUMMARY - ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES
Serves as a technical advisor responsible for a broad program involving development, budgeting, scheduling, project management, and installation of systems.

JOB SUMMARY - SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS/DUTIES

Must be able to:

• Design radar and microwave transmitting and receiving systems from stringent requirements.

• Research and select high power radar components based upon specified requirements.
• Write requirements documents and operations manuals, etc.
• Design and conduct individual component tests and system level testing in a lab and on installed systems to verify vendor specification compliance and system performance.
• Prototype systems to determine design feasibility.
• Integrate COTS and specially designed radar hardware and software into a large scale system.
• Troubleshoot component and system level issues for hardware and software.
• Maintain, overhaul, and modify system components and associated equipment and software.

Apply sound system engineering principles. Knowledge of antenna design and analysis, and radar signal processing desired.Performs other related duties and assignments as directed.

REQUIREMENTS - EDUCATION, TECHNICAL AND WORK EXPERIENCE
Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering from an accredited academic institution and 8 years of related engineering experience, or have an accredited Master of Science Degree in Engineering with at least 6 years of related engineering experience, or have an accredited Doctorate Degree in Engineering with at least 4 years of related engineering experience. The incumbent must have comprehensive knowledge of concepts, principles, and practices of engineering to provide consultative services on development programs and in the design and development of systems and components. The position requires knowledge and skill sufficient to apply the latest developments in engineering to solve complex problems in the specialty area. The incumbent must have excellent communication and analytical skills and must possess effective planning/organizing skills. The incumbent must have a working knowledge of computer systems and computer-based engineering tools. The incumbent must possess well developed leadership skills and have the ability to investigate, troubleshoot, and design solutions to problems from a broad prospective. Incumbent will be required qualify for and maintain a government security clearance and must have a valid, current state drivers license.
