Responsibilities:Our Systems Administrators are responsible for maintaining and improving operations infrastructure in a Dev/QA/PreProd environment. This includes nearly 100 Linux systems and over 100 product environments. As this is a senior position, the candidate will be responsible for all aspects of systems administration, including hardware, OS, standard systems services, applications, etc. Candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication skills as the role requires regular involvement with development and QA teams for both troubleshooting and new feature rollout. o Troubleshoot system and application issues o Provide 24x7 on call support o Manage standard UNIX services within a centralized infrastructure built on CFEngine/Puppet /Cobbler,DNS, LDAP, NTP, email, Nagios, Cacti, etco Installation of OS?s with kickstart on both real and virtual machineso Manage F5 load balancer.o Support Dev/QA with product deployments/releaseso Design/Improve automated deployment processes for new/existing productso Setup patching scheduleso Make hardware/software recommendations Assist in supporting all UNIX and Linux systems. Assist in the administration of web applications, data file structures and directories. Build, rack and load servers, assist in the maintenance and upgrade of server OS/software/hardware. Participate in and support monitoring and troubleshooting system performance. Perform system hardware/software maintenance through trend analysis, capacity planning and performance tuning to ensure system integrity and security, and to provide optimum speed, capacity and responsiveness. Participate in or support the configuration, implementation and maintenance of servers, system software, system upgrades and software patches by installing and testing new hardware and software and updating system configuration documentation. Support the testing and implementation of all operating system upgrades for all platforms and troubleshoot problems reported by users and monitoring systems and make recommendations for enhancements in the implementation of future computing platforms, servers and networks. Ensure that all the computers in the network are up and running and secured. Participate in the configuration and security for local and remote users, upgrades and third party software. Work with development and QA to gather information to design computer systems and platforms to aide clients with their business processes. Configure, troubleshoot problems, and support non-SAP applications. Participate with business analysts and application architects in planning upgrades and expanding application functionality. Qualifications: 8+ years in UNIX systems administration RHEL 4.x-6.x. Experience with the implementation and usage of centralized management systems ? Puppet is a plus. Vmware ESX 4.x,5.x, XEN hypervisors. Excellent shell scripting skills ? perl, python, ruby, php is a plus. Experience configuring kickstart and automated deployment tools. Understanding of networking fundamentals, switching, routing and firewalls. Experience with Load Balancers ? F5 experience is a plus. Understand SSL certificates management.
