Position Details
Position Summary: The Outbound Sales Representative is responsible for meeting or exceeding sales goals for small to medium sized business. The position is responsible to make outbound telephone calls to increase market share and account penetration. Follows-up, prepares service proposals, and sees the sale through to the signing of the contract. Prospects for new clients and makes initial contact by cold-calling on the phone or by lead lists. The Outbound Sales Representative will be expected to spend 90% of each work day making cold calls by telephone and selling Cox Business voice, internet, and video services to targeted small to medium sized businesses.
Primary Responsibilities/Tasks - Essential Functions
Responds to emails and educates customers on various product lines
Meets or exceeds corporate/regional sales goals
Places Outbound calls to current and potential customers to sell new or upsell Data, Video, Voice and other assigned products.
Places Outbound calls for promotional pricing campaigns
Prospect by cold calls (telemarketing) and generates new sales and sales opportunities
Develops proposals and presentations to customers and prospects
Forwards win/loss, prospect and sales pipeline reporting to the Manager
Works with customers who require solutions that the sale can be closed over the phone
Refers customers to an Outside Sales Representative to meet with customer if sale is not appropriate for the Outbound Sales Representative to complete.
Understands communication needs of business customers well enough to determine level of complexity of the required solution
Ensures product pricing reflects pricing structures set at the corporate level
Forwards ROI assessments, as appropriate, to Manager for approval when required
Works with Sales Engineer (or Data Sales Engineer) and/or Service Delivery Team to determine appropriate solutions and address any issues regarding installation or service Updates Optix with all required customer information in a timely fashion
Remains current on technical information regarding Coxs telephony, data, and video products and offerings, Customer Premises Equipment (CPE), networking, and sales skills through completion of required/recommended training program
Responsible for the overall satisfaction of customer accounts.
Special project assignments as needed for Cox Business and Cox Communications
Qualifications
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
HS Diploma, GED or relevant work experience
Technical certification or Associates degree may be preferred and/or required in some areas
3-5 years of related experience in related area of responsibility
1+ years telesales or related experience in a B2B Outbound environment
Consultative selling experience
Knowledge of communications industry; experience in industry preferred
Strong Technical aptitude
Strong communications skills
Strong people and relationship management skills
Computer skills including Windows based applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, Outlook)
Recommended Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Bachelors degree and/or equivalent experience
Report, proposal and presentation preparation
Icoms Billing System knowledge
Optix System Knowledge
Professional Selling Skills
Prospect pipeline tracking
Environment/Working Conditions:
Works primarily in office environment, sitting for extended periods of time. Must handle multiple priorities in an often-stressful environment.

Physical Effort may include use of hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms. Ability to talk and hear. May be required to stand, walk, climb, or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or sit.
Visual Requirements:
Clarity of vision to see close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
