Job Summary and MissionThis job contributes to Starbucks success by overseeing the development and implementation of sound quality assurance programs that meet the plant and company standards and regulatory requirements. Models and acts in accordance with Starbucks guiding principles.
Summary of Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
Leadership - Setting goals for the work group, developing organizational capability, and modeling how we work together:
- Identifies and communicates key responsibilities and practices to ensure the immediate team of direct reports promotes a successful attitude, confidence in leadership, and teamwork to achieve business results.
- Supports the implementation of company programs to ensure the success of the Company.
- Plans and manages business unit/department processes and practices to ensure that programs are aligned with company business goals and objectives.
- Prepares, communicates and educates client groups and team on changes in policies and practices within the organization.
- Anticipates, recognizes and assesses situations quickly and organizes resources to take appropriate action.
- Ensures uniformity of quality and adherence to specifications in raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products.
- Ensures workplace safety and addresses safety issues promptly and completely.
- Establishes and implements procedures to improve quality and reduce operating costs.
- Keeps operating costs within budget expectations.
- Provides technical guidance to plant on quality programs.
- Challenges and inspires partners to achieve business results.
- Conducts and ensures the completion of performance reviews.
- Develops teams and partnerships aligned with Starbucks guiding principles. Ensures partners adhere to legal and operational compliance requirements.

- Oversees training and development of partners directly and indirectly managed and makes effective staffing decisions.
- Provides coaching, direction and leadership support to team members in order to achieve partner, business and customer results.

- Sets priorities and strategies which enable individuals and groups to achieve its goals.
Job Requirements
Summary of Experience- Functional discipline of management (5 years)
- Developing and leading plant specific quality, customer service and cost optimization programs from either a field or corporate environment (3 years)
- Managing budgets (1 year)
- Consumer products or food company and plant experience, either technical or production
- Managing and developing others
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Team-building skills
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
- Ability to provide leadership, with the ability to coach and mentor team partners
- Analytical and quantitative skills
- Ability to build relationships
- Familiarity with American Institute of Baking (AIB), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) standards
- Creative problem solving, with the ability to recommend and implement solutions
