JOB SUMMARY:

This position is located with the US Army Accessions Command, US Army 6th Recruiting Brigade, Medical Detachment, North Las Vegas, Nevada. Las Vegas Nevada is known as the entertainment capital of the world.

You would be responsible for coordinating or carrying out a variety of social services type programs linking various military and civilian support services with the battalions dispersed soldiers and family members. You would serve as a single point of contact for incoming/outgoind soldiers and their family members to help them understand the full range of programs and benefits available to them as well as their responsibilities under these programs. You would develop, maintain and distribute welcome packets for incoming soliders and their families, develop and provide sponsorship training and provide guidance on the preparation of the sponsor letter. You would work with the battallion, company, and station personnel to recruit and maintain an active volunteer force as well as coordinate and provide training for the volunteer force. You would serve as the primiary Health Benefits advisor for military personnel and their families to obtain medical care information needed for medical treatment through direct care, Tricare, and similar programs.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below.  Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Experience required: To qualify based on your work experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job.  Specialized experience is defined as:  Experience equivalent to the GS-07 level which includesadvising employees regarding health and human services programs and procedures,quality of life programs and medical care.

  This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service GS-07.

 

You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency (knowledge, skills, abilities) in the following areas:

    Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the GS-07 grade (or equivalent).
