Summary:

Coordinate with Maintenance Planning and Production groups to ensure the execution and recording of preventive maintenance strategies. Ensure tasks are adequately resourced, executed, and tracked to confirm maintenance activities meet financial, safety and environmental requirements.

Superintendent Rolling Stock

 

Duties Include:

• Assist in development of maintenance plans and job schedules to meet environmental and safety requirements during maintenance.
• Monitor equipment and work areas; take action to prevent non-compliance with environmental regulations and licenses.
• Inspect work areas daily; participate in health and safety audits/inspections.
• Assist in the re-prioritizing of work during equipment breakdowns.
• Raise, update and close work orders and submit purchase requisitions.
• Confirm that contractors have completed HS&E compliance training.
• Ensure effective communication and coordination between the Maintenance Planning group and all other departments.

Job Requirements

• Five years maintenance experience on Caterpillar type equipment in a mining environment, related formal vocational training, New Mexico MSHA Foreman certification (or obtain within required time period).
• Technical equipment maintenance skills as well as a successful completion of projects exemplifying strong planning and execution skills. Knowledge of maintenance business processes, SAP, and mining processes.
• Strong leadership skills including written and verbal communications, and presentation skills.
• Ability to apply technical information from a variety of sources and complete projects on time and within budget, as well as effectively interact at all levels of the organization in a team-oriented, rapidly changing environment.
