Summary:

Responsible for maintaining and monitoring systems that monitor and control mine production and safety. Ensure the capability of the equipment, facilities and safety of mine employees.

Reports to:

Superintendent Control Room

 

Duties Include:

• Monitor, control and respond to mine conditions; provide troubleshooting assistance as needed.
• Sustain communication and relay conditions with miners underground and supervisors, and respond to emergency events.
• Maintain communication and control room systems, and maintain underground and surface facility control system.
• Identify, design, analyze and improve standards and critical controls required to manage HSEC and other processes.
• Lead investigations of events using 1SAP Work Management and ensure alignment of production equipment work strategies.
• Process engineering related to production control, product quality monitoring and equipment performance.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering –OR– an Associate of Science Degree in Instrumentation & Controls plus three years equivalent experience in electrical support –OR– 10 years equivalent experience in the electrical field with computer, PLC and instrumentation and controls experience.
• Two years of experience in an underground mine along with a New Mexico Examiners Certification, MSHA Electrical Certification for low, medium and high voltage – surface and underground.
• Computer skills including PLC, RSLogix 5000 SLC5000, RSView and Panel Builder.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to effectively interact at all levels of the organization in a team-oriented, rapidly changing environment.

 

Preferred: Experience in TCP/IP data networks, switches, routers and fiber optic infrastructure.
