Senior Accountant (General Ledger) at Las Vegas

Job Description

General Responsibilities:

To support the Shared Services accounting function with specific focus through accountability and professional accounting skills to include:

 

• Lease accounting to include FASB 13 for deferred leases and accounting for sub-leases.
• Preparation of cost center budget versus actual inquiry responses to include root cause resolution and metric reporting
• Accounting of restructure reserve with monthly reporting.  Obtain subject matter expert classification on all inquires supporting restructure reporting. 
• Vendor allowance tracking to include contract interpretation and forecasting within contract periods across multiple complex agreements.  Collaborative support with Purchasing.
• Various account reconciliations supporting “should be" balance analysis through validation of account to internal management and external auditors. 
• Reconcile and maintain life insurance accounting process for key employees. 
• Provide necessary support for Sarbanes-Oxley compliance inquiries to include self assessment
• Performs other duties as assigned and deemed necessary of the position.

Job Requirements

Education/Experience:

• Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance.- CPA REQUIRED 
• Having worked within a public accounting firm.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze results to include presentation of findings and execution of change deemed necessary to promote improvement
• Strong working knowledge of Oracle financials or other ERP financial systems preferred
• Microsoft Office Suite working knowledge preferred (intermediate to advanced Excel skills preferred
• Strong financial and operational analysis skills
• Solid knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
• Accountability mindset with ability to support mentoring role with others throughout Shared Services.
