Job Title: Senior Statistical Analyst
Department: DataX Analytics
Reports To: VP of Analysis
Summary The Senior Statistical Analyst supports fraud and credit risk modeling, builds/develops underwriting rules/models, conducts data forensic analysis of CRA transactions as well as QA analysis of client data reporting.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Performs data analysis using statistical software on a daily basis.
- Performs CHAID and logistic modeling for payday loan underwriting.
- Performs ad hoc analysis testing business propositions.
- Performs extensive data mining and consumer behavior modeling.
- Performs data QA analysis to ensure quality of client data reporting.

Supervisory Responsibilities
This position will have project management responsibilities and is required to mentor junior-level analysts.

Education and/or Experience
Bachelors degree (B. A.) degree in any quantitative-based sciences from a four-year College or university; Master’s degree is a plus. Minimum ten years work experience in statistical modeling and quantitative analysis. Financial services industry background is preferred.
Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
Statistical Skills
Ability to apply advanced statistical methodologies such as logistic regression, CHAID/decision tree analysis, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, factor analysis and cluster/segmentation analysis.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, musical notes, etc.,) in its most difficult phases. Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, the individual should have knowledge of Database software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
Other Skills and Abilities
SAS, Angoss KnowledgeStudio, SQL and other statistical software packages and data mining tools.
